13 Nights 14 Days South India Temple Tour you will travel through the ancient temples of south India. The itinerary of South India temple starting from Chennai, Sri Venkateshwara Temple at Tirupati, Kanchipuram, Mahabalipuram, Chidambaram, Kumbakonam, Tanjore, Trichy, Madurai, Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari, Kovalam, and last day departure from Kovalam to Trivandrum Airport.

DAY 01: ARRIVE IN CHENNAI
Upon arrival at the Chennai International airport, you will be welcome by Bhagirathi Tour & Travel representative after transfer to the hotel. Day at leisure. Chennai – developed in 1639 by East India Company, is one of the oldest cities of the country. It is the gateway and the largest city in southern India located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. Chennai is the Musical and Cultural Capital of India, known for its classical dance shows and spiritual centers, and it offers a lot of things to visitors – whether it’s shopping, sightseeing, dining, or experiencing the rich culture of South India. DAY 02: SIGHTSEEING IN CHENNAI
After breakfast depart for city tour visiting St. George fort, Sri Parthasarathy Temple, Kapaleeshwar Temple, Adeeswar Temple and more. Relax on Marina beach, one of the longest of world's beach ranking. Later drive back to the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 03: CHENNAI TO TIRUPATI AND BACK TO CHENNAI (155 KM ONE SIDE, APPROX. 4 HOURS DRIVE)
The morning after an early breakfast we will go on an excursion to Tirupati. Upon arrival in Tirupati proceed for Tirupati Temple Darshan.
Tirupati is located in Andhra Pradesh and an ancient Hindu temple town having historical references in Puranas. The temple of lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of the Lord Vishnu. Tirupati Temple is located is at the footsteps of the Tirumala hills. After Darshan it depend on time availability you shall visit (Padmavathay Temple, Hanuman Temple, Govindharajar Perumal Temple, after sightseeing we head back to Chennai city for overnight stay.

DAY 04: CHENNAI - KANCHIPURAM – MAHABALIPURAM (130 KM, APPROX. 4 HOURS DRIVE)
Today we will explore two famous Heritage and Architecture cities Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram. While going Mahabalipuram, Kanchipuram falls in between. Kanchipuram offers sightseeing of Varadharaja Perumal Temple, Ekambareshwrar temple, Kamakshi Amman Temple. If time permits visit to silk weaving factories of Kanchipuram. On arrive at Mahabalipuram visit to UNESCO heritage-listed group of monuments recognized at World Heritage sites. (Overnight stay in hotel at Mahabalipuram)

DAY 05: MAHABALIPURAM – CHIDAMBARAM (165 KM, APPROX. 4 TO 5 HOURS DRIVE)
Breakfast, and Relax in the morning after taking sightseeing tour of the ancient temples and rock carvings of Mahabalipuram. Although many of these temples are no longer used for regular worship or pilgrimage, all sacred sites in India retain their importance to local people and you will often see small offerings at even the oldest and most obscure temples On arrival in Chidambaram check-in at the hotel. CHIDAMBARAM greets us with a beautiful temple, dedicated to Lord Nataraja- God Siva in the form of a Cosmic Dancer. This is one of the few temples where Siva and Vishnu are enshrined under one roof. The Tamil Nadu between Vada Venkatam (North Tirupati) and Ten-Kumari is the holiest spot on earth. A Paradise on Earth and to merit this eulogy a divine fragrance permeates the Tamil land. Tamil itself is Sivam and it will be quite in order, to say that the Tamil land is a huge Siva shrine. (Overnight stay in hotel at Chidambaram)

DAY 06: CHIDAMBARAM – KUMBAKONAM - TANJORE (130 KM, APPROX. 3 TO 4 HOURS DRIVE)
After breakfast visiting, Natraj Temple followed by a drive to Tanjore. Thanjavur was the royal city of the Cholas, Nayaks, and the Mahrattas. Thanjavur was at height of its glory during Rajaraja Cholan. The Big Temple and the other famous temples in the district are known all over the world. Thanjavur was the cultural capital of the country in 1790. Thanjavur gained prominence during the period of Chola Kings, who made it as their capital. It is known as the Granary of South India lying in the deltaic region of the famous river Cauvery and crisscrossed by a lengthy network of irrigation canals. (Overnight stay in hotel at Tanjore)

DAY 07: TANJORE TO TRICHY TO MADURAI (195 KM, APPROX. 5 TO 6 HOURS DRIVE)
The morning after breakfast visit 1000-year-old Brihadeeshwar Temple, Great living Chola Temples and leave for glorious city of Madurai. En-route visit to Tiruchirappalli, once the part of Chola Kingdom. Visit sculpted temples and Fortress of Trichy. Begin with Jambukeswarar Temple, Sri Rangnathaswamy Temple and Rockfort temple. Drive to Madurai continue. On arrival, and check in to the hotel for the overnight stay in Madurai.

DAY 08: MADURAI
The morning after breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Madurai visiting – the famous “Meenakshi Amman Temple” dedicated to the goddess Parvati. Though it is famous by the name of goddess Meenakshi, the temple is also dedicated to her consort Lord Shiva as Sundareshwarar. Onward visit the beautiful Tirumalai Nayak palace – the 17th-century marvel with beautiful architecture. In the evening visit to ‘Tiruparankundram’ a temple dedicated to the Lord Muruga and is famous as one of the six abodes of Lord Subramaniya. Post-visit return to hotel of stay. DAY 09: MADURAI TO RAMESHWARAM. (175 KM, APPROX. 5 HOURS DRIVE)
Checkout from the hotel after early breakfast and drive to Rameshwaram. Famously known as the South Kashi Rameshwaram is a very popular pilgrim destination in India. It is one of the Char Dhams of India for Hindu devotees. On arrival check in to the hotel and onward visit famous Ramanathaswamy temple, Gandhmadhana Parvatham, Hanuman temple and Dhanushkodi (depending on time and permission). (Overnight stay in hotel at Rameshwaram)

DAY 10: RAMESHWARAM TO KANYAKUMARI. (250 KM, APPROX. 6 to 7 HOURS DRIVE)
After early breakfast drive to Kanyakumari (Cape Comorin). On reaching Kanyakumari Check in to the hotel and later for sightseeing visiting places of interest such as The Kumari Amman Temple – the shrine of Devi Kanya Kumari. Vivekananda Rock Memorial - stands on one of two rocks located about 500 meters off the mainland. Gandhi Mandapam - built on the spot where the urn containing the Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes was kept for public viewing before immersion. Thiruvalluvar Statue – the famous poet who recited Thirukkural. Later free time and you can enjoy the spectacular sunset (subject to climatic conditions) (Overnight stay in hotel at Kanyakumari).

DAY 11: KANYAKUMARI TO KOVALAM. (90 KM, APPROX. 2:30 HOUR’S DRIVE)
Early morning see the sunrise, later after breakfast checkout from hotel and drive to Kovalam (90 km/ 2.30 hrs). The “Paradise of the South”. Enroute see Poovar backwaters. Arrive and check in to the hotel, rest of the day at leisure at the beach, evening walk nearby beaches. (Overnight stay in hotel at Kovalam)

DAY 13 & 14: KOVALAM

DAY 14: KOVALAM TO TRIVANDRUM. (12 KM, APPROX. 30 TO 40 MINUTES DRIVE)
Morning at leisure before you are transferred to Trivandrum international airport an board flight to home.
